Having studios in both the UK and Caribbean, she has acquired the expertise to transform properties in either location.
The skills required to run a luxury hotel – ensuring the guests are comfortable and cosseted – combined with a talent for design and an exquisite use of colour helped to win Jenny the coveted World’s Best Interior Design Private Residence Award at the International Property Awards for a sympathetic restoration of an historic lodge in Hertfordshire.
Jenny started her company in 1996 offering bespoke design and project management service to both private and commercial clients. Work for clients in the UK lead to a commission in the Caribbean where Jenny soon established a foothold with her office opening in Barbados in 2001 and interiors showroom following in 2011.
“Initial meetings with clients are always held on site,” says Jenny, “whether in Barbados or the UK, but all the designs and schemes are worked on by our design team based in West London where the client’s plans and wishes can be understood and developed.”
Each home design is individual and reflects the hopes and aspirations of the owner, Jenny’s interiors for Caribbean homes are full of light and colour with uncluttered spaces and rooms which flow easily from one to the next. You will find beautiful fabrics full of tropical colour and pattern and comfortable furniture suitable for beachside living.
Local artwork is either commissioned or selected and the company, working with local artisans, has a range of unique furniture pieces. These are often made from locally sourced materials such as coral stone, mahogany, pickled pine/ash and metalwork. Jenny’s exclusive designs include hand-embroidered napkins and tablecloths, beautiful soft bamboo rugs, cotton bedspreads and gorgeous storm lanterns in marine grade steel, ideal for weathering the salty air of the Caribbean.
