The Zagato original build number 551 is offered for sale by Howard Wise. It has covered just 100 miles since restoration.
In Concours condition, the car has been restored and race prepped by Alfaholics over a period of seven years with priority given to retaining as much of the original aluminium body and parts as possible.
The SZ was very successful on both a national and international level and helped Alfa Romeo secure a victory in the International Championship for GT Manufacturers in both 1962 and 1963.
This particular car was prepared by the team under Virgilio Conrero, and participated in Le Tour de France, Coupe del Alpes, Criterium Jean Behra and Criterium Alpin in the early 1960’s when driven by Corsican rally driver Pierre Orsini. It is accompanied by a collection of historical photographs and memorabilia, and is an ideal vehicle for both European road rallies and track race events alike.
