An eclectic selection

Dining room ideas from award-winning designer – Alexander Wong

The spirit of ‘Tomorrow’s Living Today’ is at the heart and soul of The Futura design and the signature L-shaped sofas for living and dining are totally interchangeable. The giant half-moon TV automatically slides open for a sneak preview into new ideas of future entertainment. At Golden Eye, the China display cabinet acts as a luminous backdrop creating a space with more sophisticated layering. White chinaware and clear crystals are shown here but one could pick any colour of fine china or crystals to set the scene.

“For Maison Supreme at Mount Nicholson, the basement wine cellar is partly transformed into a Japanese Gourmet Privé named ‘The Robatayaki Papillon’. With exotic seafood in full display, this in-house dining experience will surprise and impress the most discerning guests from any background or ethnic origin. The underground ambience is fully exploited by introducing a uniquely organic and fluid ceiling with golden butterflies in tow. Needless to say, it’s the perfect setting to bring out the sake.

The Natura is our upcoming private and luxury residential project to be launched this summer. Here, the design aspiration is to balance ‘technology’ with ‘nature’. As a signature piece at the dining area, the crystal garden cabinet with white magnolias, blue butterflies and humming bird silhouettes, all screen-printed inside the glass, is set right opposite the TV monitor forming part of a media ribbon running across the entire length of the living and dining room wall.”
