Dive down one of the lanes that lead from King’s Road to the Thames and you will find a world apart. The chance to enter a historic 18th century townhouse open to the public for the first time is too good to miss, particularly when this eccentrically decorated property is showing works by the equally extravagant Kate Braine.

For 20 years she has quietly been potting away in her garden studio at 20 Cheyne Row, a stone’s throw from the home of the great Victorian potter William de Morgan. The result is some 300 sculptural pieces inspired by the rich interiors. Shelves, tables and plinths are crammed with the strange botanical and marine like forms that have emerged from the artist’s subconscious mind in this other worldly milieu.

From June 27th to July 3rd at 20 Cheyne Row, London, UK.
After this date by appointment
