This beautiful sideboard is based on the famous painted furniture of Shanxi province in central China. Each of the four doors is decorated in gold leaf and hand painted with butterflies – a symbol for both long life and for happiness in a marriage. The outer frame is painted with flowers in gold, red and green, while the four upper drawers are also decorated with gold leaf. The inside of the sideboard is one open space, with a removable shelf on each side. Available as standard in red, black or cream lacquer but alternative colours, sizes and designs can be made to order.
