The charity roster of the British Photography Awards includes no less than eight wildlife and environmental groups.
Among those shortlisted in this year’s prestigious event, which is open to all British photographers worldwide, is Gimme Shelter, by Michael Gallagher in support of the Hebridean Whale & Dolphin Trust. “I was scuba diving in the remote waters of Palau in Micronesia in the South Pacific Ocean when I encountered this gorgeous anemonefish sheltering amongst the tentacles of its closed-up anemone host. As I admired the spectacle I was lucky enough to capture this endearing portrait,” he says.
