Celtic Connections: Celtic Manor Resort

Featuring four outstanding hotels and multiple award-winning restaurants, each stay at this five-star resort in Newport, South Wales is entirely bespoke.

Home of the 2010 Ryder Cup and host venue of the NATO Summit 2014, the Celtic Manor Resort is set in more than 2,000 acres of panoramic parkland at the gateway to Wales. There are four hotel options – a 330-room Resort Hotel, an historic 19th century Manor House dating from the early 1860s with 70 rooms, the 148-room Coldra Court and the Newbridge on Usk, a 200-year-old country inn with six bedrooms. In 2014, Celtic Manor also opened 10 new Hunter Lodges to offer luxurious self-catering to guests with all the amenities of the resort at close hand.

Extensive facilities include seven restaurants, two exceptional spas, two state-of-the-art health clubs, a large new convention centre, fishing, adventure golf, treetop high ropes course and tennis courts. The resort also offers the challenge of three 18-hole championship golf courses, including the Twenty Ten course, the first course in history to be designed and built specifically to host The Ryder Cup. After a long round of golf or for those who like ultimate relaxation, the newly refurbished Forum Spa offers a full range of treatments for men, women or couples.

The Celtic Manor Resort is within easy reach of an abundance of local attractions including the capital city Cardiff, the outstanding beauty of The Usk Valley and Wales’ cultural castles.
