We catch up with the latest news from Fastlane Paint and Body Group – perhaps the UK’s best-known repairers of prestigious motor cars.
With its ultra-specialist expertise, highly regarded customer service, and lean thinking working practices, Fastlane is alone in its profession. The company has close working relationships with a select number of prestige manufacturers including Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Mercedes-Benz and Tesla Motors.
Fastlane’s collaboration with Rolls-Royce has included cooperation in the reproduction of the famous rock band The Who’s album cover ‘Tommy’ on the bonnet of a new Wraith. The firm has also been involved with work on the fabulous one-off’ Rolls-Royce Sweptail. This specially coach built vehicle resembles a Phantom from the front and takes inspiration from the 1925 Phantom 1 Round Door. The Sweptail embodies the svelte tapering glasshouse, with a gently sloping Coupe roofline. This magnificent vehicle is the most expensive new car ever built with a price tag of around $13 million.
Having been a Mercedes-Benz Approved Repairer for a number of years, Fastlane has recently agreed the purchase of the Brentford Mercedes-Benz Repair business. This massive operation caters for all Mercedes-Benz bodywork repairs, including AMG and Maybach. In addition, Fastlane also looks after Mercedes-Benz bodywork repairs for the 16 dealerships in and around the Greater London area who operate under the ‘Mercedes-Benz Retail Group’ banner.
Fastlane first became involved with Tesla Motors in 2016. As one of the first bodyshops in the UK to invest early and heavily in extensive staff training on hybrid and electric technology, working with Tesla, the innovative American manufacturers was a natural move. As well as being involved in Tesla’s UK distribution centre, Fastlane’s repair centres based in St Albans, London Elstree, Guildford, Brentford and Ascot are authorised and fully equipped to look after all Tesla cars.
