During his 33 years in the vehicle body repair industry, Alex Andrea has carried out many interesting projects including repairs for vehicles owned by the British Royal Household and famous celebrities. He launched the company Fastlane Paint & Body with his business partner Peter Weil in 2004 in St Albans, before expanding to Ascot, Berkshire and Guildford, Surrey. A new state-of-the-art facility will also be opened in North London shortly. When Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced a series of nine Wraith ‘Inspired by British Music’ cars, Fastlane was delighted to become involved. Created in collaboration with, and celebrating the legacy of, some of British music’s most revered rock and vocal artists, the resulting highly bespoke cars represent the ultimate collectors’ items. They will be sold later this year, with Rolls-Royce donating a proportion of the value of each to charities selected by the artists. The Who’s lead singer and front man, Roger Daltrey CBE, committed to creating two cars for the project. On the bonnet of one of them, Fastlane carried out part of the intricate paintwork representing the famous album cover of The Who’s famous rock opera ‘Tommy’. Mike McInnerney, the artist responsible for the original album artwork, worked with Rolls-Royce’s surface finish experts including Alex Andrea to create an extraordinary expression of the iconic sleeve design on this truly unique car.
