The urge to take to the water and enjoy the freedom it offers get stronger and stronger as the boating bug bites. What’s more, as yachts have become more like second homes in terms of spaciousness, comfort and state-of-the-art technology, the idea of spending an increasing amount of time onboard relaxing or even working, is very tempting.Based in New Bern, North Carolina, Hatteras Yachts has been established for more than 58 years, building motor yachts from 60 to 100 feet. The company has recently unveiled the new Hatteras M90 Panacera Motor Yacht. Showcasing several Hatteras innovations, this sleek yacht shares its design DNA with the other models in the range, including the Hatteras 100 Raised Pilothouse and the M75 Panacera.

The yacht’s spacious 22’ 6″ beam, coupled with the open salon floor plan lined with large, frameless windows, create the ambiance of a beach house surrounded by the sea. Owners have a choice of indoor dining options – in addition to the traditional dining table located near the bulkhead, there is also a wraparound dinette in the Atrium galley forward, which is bathed with light by the super-sized skylight overhead.

The lower-deck guest area has four large staterooms, all with en suite heads, accommodating a total of eight guests in privacy. The master suite is full-beam and amidships, with its king-sized berth set slightly off-centre. The master bath has twin sinks and large shower. Separate crew quarters encompass a captain’s cabin with double berth, twin bunkroom, head, and galley/lounge area, all finished to the same high standard as the rest of the interior. The M90 Panacera excels at outdoor entertaining with an aft deck complete with a big settee, dining table and built-in bar. The yacht also features the next generation of Hatteras foredeck lounge, featuring a comfortable cocktail/dining area and huge sun lounge. However, the flybridge is sure to be the most popular spot for alfresco dining and entertaining onboard. A large hardtop shades the fully equipped helm station, an adjoining table for eight, a long settee, chair and bar.HattCON, another Hatteras innovation, makes its debut in the M90 Panacera. The new, proprietary total ship management system fully integrates the yacht’s navigation, vessel monitoring and automation systems into a seamless touchscreen interface. The yacht also features a Crestron marine automation system, putting intuitive ease of use of the yacht’s onboard entertainment right at owners’ and guests’ fingertips. It will allow them to use the iPads provided onboard to control audio source, volume, and acoustics anywhere in the yacht. Similar functionality is present for the video distributed throughout the yacht’s large interior TV screens and the equally impressive drop-down TVs on the aft deck and flybridge.
