Is it a car or is it a bike? The Vanderhall Laguna three-wheeled auto-cycle
combines the best of both modes of transport.
Hand-built by a staff of 35 at the Vanderhall Motor Works’ factory in Utah, the Laguna is a true head turner. Its custom mono-aluminium frame was designed over a period of years by Vanderhall’s founder Steve Hall. His multi-year Vanderhall development process included 11 major designs and 40 prototypes. The auto-cycle’s hand-laid carbon-fibre body employs pre-impregnated mat as well as optional premium weave that involves over 400 hours of labour to complete.
Steve hails from a long line of innovators and inventors— his grandfather H.Tracy Hall, developed the process for growing synthetic diamonds. This tradition carries through to Vanderhall and many of the Laguna’s components and processes are patented. Components that aren’t built in-house are sourced from top-tier suppliers, such as General Motors. A prime example is the GM powertrain. Technology is also GM-derived including ABS, traction control (which can be disabled), brake assist and steering assist. Cruise control and LED exterior lighting both come as standard. Creature comforts haven’t been spared either with the inclusion of a heater, heated seat, and a 1,000-watt Bluetooth-enabled sound system.
The best things is life are always worth waiting for and accordingly orders for the Vanderhall Laguna Sport Premium are limited with a four to six month turn around.
