Known as the ‘Venice of America’, Fort Lauderdale on
Florida’s Gold Coast is renowned for having some of the state’s most prestigious yacht clubs as well as fabulous marina and waterside properties.
Fort Lauderdale is ideally located between landscaped tropical foliage and many of the best beaches in South Florida. It is also interlaced by the New River and myriad inland waterways leading to the Atlantic Ocean, making it a perfect choice for yacht owners.
The city is currently preparing to host the 59th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show at the Bahia Mar Marina from October 31st to November 4th. A wide variety of boats will be on display with show exhibits ranging from yacht builders and designers to exotic cars and brokerage yachts. Giving an idea as to its popularity, the 2017 boating spectacle attracted no fewer than 105,000 visitors.
As for property potential, over the last year homes in Fort Lauderdale have appreciated at a rate of 5.7% and Zillow, an online real estate database company, predicts they will rise 3.3% within the next year. Latest figures from the Miami Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors also reveal that foreign home buyers spent more on South Florida homes and purchased more local residential properties last year than in 2016. If the following properties appeal, now could be a good time to drop anchor in Fort Lauderdale.
