The Jerram Gallery in the middle of Dorset’s rolling countryside is the ideal venue for a major wildlife and sporting art exhibition. Fourteen of the most highly regarded names in sporting art are showing their latest paintings and sculptures.
The line-up includes Carry Akroyd whose latest commissions include the bird illustration for the Bird of the Month column in The Oldie; David Miller, best known for his underwater paintings of game, coarse and marine fish; keen ornithologist, Alastair Proud; Brin Edwards, whose purpose built studio in Suffolk is made from straw bales; Greg Poole, an all-round keen naturalist; Terence Lambert, a key player in contemporary wildlife art; and Andrew Stock, past President of the Society of Wildlife Artists from 2004 – 2009.
Artists working in bronze include Mark Coreth who in 2015 was commissioned by Prince Khalid Abdullah to sculpt a life-size bronze of the famous racehorse Frankel which was unveiled at Royal Ascot by HM The Queen; and one of the leading contemporary sculptors Simon Gudgeon.
