This striking ‘Bug Chair’ has been deliberately designed to disturb, unsettle and even challenge our preconceived expectations. It has been exquisitely designed by Crook & Jones to open up questions about the relationship between furniture and comfort. The company was established by Geoff Crook and Peter Jones to explore their common interest in challenging and extending conventional definitions of form and function. With this one-off piece, the tradition of carved foliage is subverted by an encrustation of larger than life bugs. By deconstructing the established archetype of the baroque armchair, the user is encouraged to re-engage with their definitions of both comfort and status.
