Historical Tribute
Pompeii, an ancient city near Naples in Italy, was buried under volcanic ash and pumice during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Largely preserved, Pompeii offers a unique snapshot of Roman life, frozen at the moment it was buried. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Italy’s most popular tourist attractions. The Pompeii sofa is a homage to this glorious Roman town.

Canadian designer Jai Jalan, who has been collaborating with Desiree for some time, has designed the Ethia sofa for the latest collection. This piece reflects his sensitivity for soft and enveloping shapes, becoming the focal point of the living room from which comfort and cosiness emanate.
Desiree offers a wide range of sofas to satisfy every taste. Ethia, characterised by organic and sinuous shapes, features slightly curved upholstered elements configurable in islands or peninsulas for dynamic environments. The backrest, fixed to the base with visible metal elements in a bronze finish, is embellished with quilted-effect stitching. Jalan, with a background in the automotive industry, brings insights to furniture design where forms evoke emotions, a concept he constantly pursues.
