Island Setting

W Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 hotel brands, has announced the opening of W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu. Set on Sardinia’s northeast coast between Porto Cervo and Baia Sardinia, the property overlooks Marina dell’Orso in the village of Poltu Quatu. Designed by Meyer Davis with architecture by DE.TALES, it features 157 rooms and suites with views of the coast and marina.
Facilities include a waterfront restaurant, W Lounge, WET Deck pool, AWAY Spa and FIT gym, alongside relaxed social spaces and curated art. The hotel brings design-led energy to a coastal setting, merging contemporary style with local influences and materials throughout the property. Coastal Residence

Sydney-based practice Common Office has completed Ramsgate House, a four-storey permanent residence adjacent to Bondi Beach.
Commissioned by a young couple with a family, the project was born from a brief requesting a home that felt deeply “of its place” in Bondi, while simultaneously serving as a private, intimate retreat. The site’s proximity to one of Australia’s most popular tourist attractions became the project’s defining design parameter.
The villa reinterprets the classical loggia through rhythmic masonry arches forming a shaded, inhabitable edge between street and home. Thick brick walls act as structure and ornament, shaping light, ventilation and privacy. A sinuous stair follows curved geometry to a copper-clad pavilion with ocean views, while passive strategies and native planting support comfort in the coastal climate. Interiors prioritise durability and calm restraint.
